Once in their final home, the best way to protect artworks made using oil pastels (as this material never dries completely), just like most paper-based artworks, is to put them behind anti-reflective, UV-protective glass with a spacer (passepartout) placed between the glass and the artwork.

For quality reasons, I create my paintings using archival, artist-grade, non-toxic, and highly lightfast materials.
